About Nix
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and people come to therapy for many different
reasons. Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, relationships may become difficult, emotions
can feel hard to manage, or there may be experiences from the past that continue to affect
daily life. For others, counselling can simply be a space to pause, reflect, and better
understand themselves.
I aim to offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental environment where clients feel safe
to talk openly at their own pace. As an integrative counsellor, I work with children, young
people, and adults from diverse backgrounds, adapting my approach to meet each person’s
individual needs and experiences.
I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, low self-esteem, identity exploration,
relationship difficulties, stress, grief and bereavement, emotional wellbeing, and life
transitions. I understand the importance of building trusting therapeutic relationships and
creating a space where people feel heard, valued, and accepted.
I am particularly passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and providing
affirming, inclusive counselling where individuals can explore their experiences freely and
authentically. I recognise the unique challenges that LGBTQIA+ individuals may face and
strive to create a space that promotes self-expression, resilience, confidence, and personal
growth.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I abide by the Code of Ethics of both UKCP and BACP.
Training & Experience
My training is rooted in integrative and person-centred counselling approaches, allowing me
to tailor therapy to everyone. I have developed knowledge and experience in supporting
children, young people, and adults with emotional wellbeing, trauma-informed practice,
safeguarding, mental health support, and identity-related issues.
I have also undertaken training in bereavement and grief support, enabling me to work
sensitively with individuals experiencing loss and significant life changes. I understand that
grief is personal and can affect everyone differently, and I aim to provide compassionate
support through that process.
I continue to engage in ongoing professional development to ensure my practice remains
ethical, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the people I support. My work is grounded
in empathy, authenticity, and respect, with a commitment to helping clients feel empowered
throughout their counselling journey.
