RELATIONSHIP THERAPY

I have 17 years of experience as a relationship therapist working with complex and varied couple issues.

There are many different concerns that might bring you to couples counselling, ranging from a lack of communication to a betrayal or affair or like many couples you have difficulty adjusting to life changes.

Some common issues that can be explored through couples counselling include:

  1. Communication
  2. Trust & betrayal issues
  3. Affairs
  4. Arguments, anger & control issues
  5. Financial issues
  6. Work-related problems
  7. Family conflicts
  8. Different goals & values
  9. Parenting styles & difficulties with parenting
  10. Managing life changes
  11. Roles & responsibilities within a relationship
  12. Lack of intimacy
  13. Sexual issues
  14. End of a relationship
  15. Impact of physical & mental health illness on a relationship

This list is not exhaustive by any means and every situation is unique. Often couples will have a range of issues that have contributed to the difficulties experienced in their relationship.

PSYCHOSEXUAL THERAPY

As a qualified and experienced Psychosexual therapist I can also help individuals and couples with sexual problems. Common reasons for people choosing sex therapy can range from erectile problems including rapid or delayed ejaculation, pain during intercourse, inability to have penetration (vaginismus), desire and arousal difficulties in both sexes and orgasmic problems. There are also other reasons such as recovering from childhood or adult sexual trauma and concerns over sexual fetishes or wanting to explore sexual orientation.

SEX & PORNOGRAPY ADDICTION

I also specialise in working with individuals, partners and couples whose lives and relationships have been affected by Sex and Pornography Addiction. I came into this field after seeing many relationships unable to survive and traditional methods of therapy fail due to the complexities involved in addiction and compulsivity. I’ve developed a successful programme incorporating Relationship and Psychosexual modalities to provide holistic treatment tailored to the specific client needs. I have an ISAT diploma in Sex Addiction therapy and was trained by Paula Hall.

Training & Experience:

My qualifications include postgraduate diplomas in:

  1. Relationship counselling
  2. Psychosexual therapy
  3. Sexual Addiction therapy
  4. Integrative Clinical Supervision

I am a registered Clinical Supervisor with COSRT (College of Sex and Relationship Therapists) and ATSAC (Association for the treatment of sexual addiction and compulsivity)

I am also a Clinical supervisor and trainer for Relate and the NHS as well as private practise.
